William Thomas Abrahams (1834-1898) was a 31-year-old physician from McKinley, Ala., when he enlisted at Perry, Ala. As a private 25 April; 1861, but did daily duty as a physician. He was mustered into Company D, Alabama 43rd Infantry but discharged for promotion on 10 May 1862. He was promoted to Surgeon and commissioned into Field & Staff, Alabama 43rd Infantry. He attended UVA 1851-53 and received his medical degree from New York Medical College 1855. 12/31/1862 - Chief Surgeon, Gen. Archibald Gracie's Brigade, Dept of E.
