Lamar Cobb (1840-1907) was a son of Howell Cobb and Mary Ann Lamar. He initially mustered into Co. B, Georgia 2nd Battalion as a private but was promoted on through the ranks to Major and AA General as well as Aide-de-Camp to his famous father, General Howell Cobb, in Field & Staff of Georgia 16th Infantry.
