Mary Ann Elizabeth (Randolph) Harden (1794-1874) was the second wife of Edward Harden (1784-1849), planter and politician; a prominent slave-owning rice plantation owner. The fascinating family papers, 1772-1940, are housed at Duke University Libraries.
